How it works
Mock Inspection reads your approved care records, incidents, care plans, risk assessments, governance flags, and audit trail. It maps each piece of evidence to the Quality Statement it supports, weighted by the CQC's five Key Questions (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led).
You get a per-statement readiness score with a traffic-light rating, a list of evidence gaps (statements with thin or missing evidence), and a prioritised action list ordered by inspection risk.
For each gap, Mock Inspection shows which records would close it. You can address genuine evidence gaps before the inspector arrives, not discover them during the assessment.
What it replaces
The pre-inspection preparation sprint. Two to three days before the inspector arrives, the manager pulls care records, tries to match evidence to each Quality Statement, identifies gaps too late to fix, and then improvises on the day. For most homes, it's the most stressful fortnight in the compliance calendar.
Regulatory grounding
Mock Inspection is built directly against the 34 Quality Statements in CQC's Single Assessment Framework, the same framework the inspector uses. The readiness score is not a proprietary metric; it's a structured view of whether your records would answer the questions CQC actually asks.
It also supports Governance, management and sustainability: a provider that runs regular Mock Inspections has a system for assessing and improving inspection readiness. That is itself evidence for the Well-led Key Question.
